Welcome
to my Family Tree Project blog. As well as blogging about my ancestors,
their occupations, and places they lived; I’ll also write about the
great online resources available to us Family Historians.
Some of the main surnames in my family include: BOTTOMLEY, BROWN, HAVENITH, MAGERMANS, SARIS, WINTERTON; as well as many others.
So far, I've found ancestors in England, the
Netherlands, and Belgium.
In time I hope to write about as many ancestors as possible – while, of
course, respecting the privacy of relatives that are alive and kicking. It's important to note that whatever I write will be based on what I knew at the time: about the person and about the times / situation they lived in.
There are already some people and places that I find particularly
interesting and I’m looking forward to finding out more about them as I
write blog posts dedicated to them.
As I find history to be an important resource to understanding the life and times of our ancestors - even the ones so far back we can't put a name to them; I'll also be writing about history books and events that are of interest.
When reviewing website usability, I use the System Usability Scale. More information on this can be found here.
If you have any questions, advice, or suggestions; please let me know in the comments.
